Honouring Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day
Each year on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, pet lovers across the world pause to remember their cherished companions who have passed away. It’s a moment for reflection, healing, and storytelling — a way to keep their memories alive while offering love and support to those grieving.
At Pet Divine, we hold space for every pet’s legacy. While we no longer offer cremation services directly, we invite pet crematoriums to join our platform and help families honour their pets with dignity. Most importantly, we offer a place for pet owners to create beautiful tributes that last forever.
The Meaning Behind Rainbow Bridge
One of the most beloved pieces of writing in pet bereavement is the “Rainbow Bridge” poem — a comforting vision of reunion and love beyond loss. It reminds us that while our pets may be gone from sight, they are never absent from our hearts.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge…

Whether you believe in the literal bridge or simply find peace in the message, Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day gives us permission to grieve, remember, and love again.
Remembering the Ones We’ve Lost
Grieving a pet is real and deeply personal. On this day, take time to:
Light a virtual candle in your pet’s memory
Write a tribute to their life and legacy
Look through photos or keepsakes
Talk about them with someone who understands
You can also visit our Pet Tribute Pages to read heartfelt stories and share your own. It’s a comforting space to honour pets who’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge — and connect with others who understand your loss.
The Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion.
Never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…
